Are you in search of a powerful 15 inch gaming laptop? If yes, then Eurocom Racer is just the right machine for you. The notebook is available with almost a dozen of different processor options and you can choose 13 different graphics cards and hence you are sure to get a configuration of your choice. Check out our exclusive Eurocom Racer (Cleavo P150HM) review to know what this gaming beast has in store for you.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Build and Design

Eurocom Racer is largely based up on Clevo P150HM chassis and because of this the notebook gives the appearance of a typical Clevo generic laptop appearance. You will get no distinct lines or elements which will allows you to identify this machine as a Clevo notebook. You can identify this machine as a Clevo notebook with the Eurocom logo on its lid. With a thickness of approximately 1.7 inches and weight just under 7 pounds, it is not long for users to realize that it is just more than a typical 15 inch laptop. The notebook is made entirely out of plastic and the build quality feels quite good.

However, we felt that the bottom half of the notebook feels a bit of flex and when tapped it produced a hollow sound. The display of the notebook is very strong and there is enough tension in the screen which holds the screen in place. One can easily access all the internal components from the bottom of the machine and you can easily access the internals of the notebook when needed.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Screen

Eurocom has offered Racer (P150HM) with several screen options. However, all of them have just one resolution 1920×1080 pixels. The display unit of our system had LED backlighting and a very good matte surface. The screen did not produce any glossy reflections and if you are an avid gamer then you will certainly appreciate this fact. The quality of the display is of top notch and backlight is quite nice and it makes it easy to view the screen even under direct sunlight. The horizontal viewing angles are quite good though vertical viewing angles are a bit less impressive. When the screen is viewed from vertical angles, then the colors faded quickly.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Keyboard and Touchpad

P150HM has full-sized keyboard with a separate numeric keypad. The keyboard is “chiclet” in style and the flat keys are raised above the surface to provide extra space between the keys. This also helps to prevent typos. The support structure of the keyboard is quite decent but as said earlier that when you type quickly, you will get to hear the hallow sound. The key feedback is quite shallow and we liked the matte key surfaces.

We were quite disappointed to find that the keyboard lacks dedicated Home, End, Page Up and Page Down keys. They are integrated as secondary functions. Another drawback of the keyboard is the lack of backlight. Hence it will be very difficult to use the keyboard in dark environment.

The touchpad of the notebook gave us mixed bag feelings. Though it is quite responsive, the use of rubber like surface ensured that our fingers sometimes skipped while moving the cursor. This is not desirable to gamers. Users also get a fingerprint reader and hence you do not need to remember passwords.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Specs

Here are some of the technical specifications of the notebook:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Processor: Intel Core i7-2960 XM Extreme Edition

RAM: 8GB DDR3-1866

SSD: 128GB MLC

Dimensions: 15.04 x 10.24 x 1.4-1.72 inches

Eurocom allows customization of Recer (Clevo P150HM) and consumers need to be aware as to what they are purchasing.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Ports

The machine features a wide range of input and output ports. In our review unit, the notebook was equipped with a HDMI, DVI, eSATA and USB 3.0 ports.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Speakers

The built-in speakers of the notebook are located above the keyboard and there is a subwoofer which is below the notebook. The subwoofer produced deep quality sound which filled a room without much distortion.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Heat

The notebook is equipped with a couple of fans which helps to drive out the hot air, thereby keeping the machine cool. The fan remains quite most of the time, but when the machine performs graphics intensive tasks, then the fan noise become very much noticeable. The cooling system also performs a great job in keeping the internals of the computer cool. External temperatures were quite mild for a gaming notebook.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Graphics Card

Our unit is packed with an Extreme Edition Core i7 processor which is one of the most powerful notebook graphics cards available in the market. Coupled with AMD Radeon HD 6990M, the machine is capable of handling almost all the latest high end games and the machine is san extremely powerful gaming laptop.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Battery Life

The battery life of the notebook depends upon the configuration that you choose. The notebook is equipped with a large 8-cell-lithium ion battery but at the same time the notebook has powerful processor and graphics card which drains much out of the battery. In our laptop battery test, the battery lasted for a little over 2 hours.

Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM) Price

Price of the laptop depends upon the configuration you choose. The configuration that we chose, price came down to $ 2750.

Eurocom Racer is one of the great gaming laptops available in the market. What makes this machine more exciting is the impressive range of configurations available and if you are looking for a high end gaming PC, then you can certainly look forward to Eurocom Racer (Clevo P150HM).

Toughbook series of notebooks from Panasonic are known for their rugged performance. Panasonic has come up with three variants of Toughbooks namely business-rugged, semi-rugged and full-rugged. Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 belongs to the semi-rugged series and promises to offer a great balance between durability and performance. The machine has been designed for business professionals who work outside and can be subjected to bumps and drops. The notebook also boasts of great display and robust battery life but it is worth a steep $ 2449 price tag? Check out our Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 review to know what the machine has to offer you.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 Looks and Feel

CF-53 is quite a fat notebook. When you look it from outside it looks very much like a briefcase with a handle at the top. The exterior has crystallized silver finish and it gives the impression of an industrial notebook meant for rigorous usage.

The notebook is MIL-STD-810G certified which means that the machine can survive up to 3 inch drop along with shock, vibration and humidity resistance. The design of the notebook is quite appealing and the magnesium alloy chassis lends the notebook durability.

A major portion of the lid is covered with a textured silver aluminum finish and the interior sports a matte black plastic finish. The notebook is quite bulky weighing 6.4 lbs. Hence you cannot carry it from one room to another easily. However, the built-in-handle made it easy for us to transport the notebook from one place to another. At dimensions standing at 13.4×11.1×1.8-2.2 inches, the notebook can easily fit into a large messenger bag. CF-53 sports a tough and durable feel.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 Display

CF-53 has the distinction of becoming the first notebook from Panasonic which features a 1366×768 pixel resolution display. The display is extremely bright and thanks to the anti-glare treatment we were able to use the display under any lighting conditions. The 14 inch display popped up nice and vivid colors and viewing angles are also wide. A couple of friends sat and enjoyed watching a HD movie. But we witnessed a bit of graininess which made it a bit difficult for us to read the texts. The display also acts as a resistive touch-screen which gives you desktop navigation experience. It supports double taps for zooming but multi-touch gestures such as pinch-zoom were not present.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 Keyboard

CF-53 is equipped with an island style, spill-resistant keyboard which offered a comfortable typing experience. The keyboard is quite compact which restricts the amount of dust between the keys. The keyboard surface is quite strong and we did not notice any significant amount of flex. The keys have decent amount of space, but found that the space bar, Enter keys were bit undersized. But overall the keyboard is quite good and nice to use.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 Touchpad

The Synaptics touchpad offered great navigation thanks to the smooth, black matte surface of the touchpad. Our fingers glided across the surface of the touchpad and we faced no problems in accurately highlighting the texts. The mouse buttons however were a bit small, but they supplied a rigid feedback. The click keys can endure an occasional coffee spills.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 Features

Specs

Processor: 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-2520Mv Pro

OS: MS Windows 7 Professional

RAM: 4GB can be upgraded to 8GB

HDD Speed: 7200 rpm

Display Resolution: 1366×768 pixels

Video Memory: 1GB

Dimensions: 13.4 x 11.1 x 1.8-2.2 inches

CF-53 offers a nice combination of ports. On the right side you get a USB 2.0 port along with USB 3.0 port, SD card reader, ExpressCard, PC Card Slot and a power jack. On the left hand side there is a DVD burner while a headphone and microphone jack is there in the front. On the rear of the notebook you will find a couple of USB2.0 ports, Ethernet, VGA, HDMI, serial port and a secure-lock slot.

Software

On the software front, the laptop is a bit disappointing as Panasonic has packed the machine with few utilities. Some of the in-built software which you will find in the machine are:-

Panasonic PC Information

Adobe Reader 8

WinDVD

Windows Live

MS Office Power Point 2007

Audio

We were quite impressed by the audio performance of CF-53′s speakers. At full volume, the sound came out pretty well and we did not witness distortion in sound. Unfortunately the speakers lacked the required amount of bass which could have further enhanced their performance.

Performance

The 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-2520M CPU along with 4GB of RAM performs quite well. The notebook is capable of performing any tasks thrown at it. The hard drive booted Windows 7 Professional in just about 50 seconds.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 Graphics

The notebook is equipped with an Intel HD 3000 GPU which allows you to enjoy HD videos and games. In our graphics test, the graphics scored reasonable benchmarks and the graphics performance is reasonable good.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 Battery Life

The battery life of CF-53 is quite impressive. In our laptop battery test, the battery lasted well over 8 hours which is quite commendable.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 Price

Price of the machine is on the higher side. You need to shell out approximately $ 2550 to purchase this beast.

If you are looking for a robust, solid and durable laptop then Toughbook CF-53 is just the right machine for you.

The laptop is equipped with an Intel Core i3-330m processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 500 GB of hard drive. Check out our Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 review to know how the machine competes with other 15 inch desktop replacement system and is it worthy of purchase?

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Looks and Build

The laptop has a black metallic finish with chrome accents. On the screen cover you will find the Fujitsu logo and a small logo is located on the top edge of the notebook. The build quality of the notebook is average as compared to the current generation of consumer and business notebook. We found that the main panel and the screen cover does flex to some extent under pressure but there is nothing to worry too much about it. The paint quality of the notebook is quite good and just like most of the Fujitsu notebooks in the market, LifeBook AH550 offers removable air filter at the bottom. At 14.65 x 10.25 x 1.49-2.00 inches, the notebook is quite comfortable to grip. But it is a bit bulky weighing around 6.40 lbs. So you can face some difficulty in carrying the machine from one place to another. Users can easily get access to the memory and the hard drive through a couple of panels at the bottom of the notebook.

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard of LifeBook AH550 is quite comfortable and is easy to type on. The keyboard support is quite good and even under serious pressure the keys performed quite well. The keys are large and they give a smooth travel. The major USP of the keyboard is that it is spill-resistant and comes with a separate number pad. Users will get accustomed to the layout of the keyboard very soon. But the lack of dedicated multimedia keys disappointed us to some extent.

The touchpad of LifeBook AH550 is mid-sized which has some multi-touch capabilities. The sensitivity of the touchpad is quite good and it offered smooth navigation. The touchpad supports gestures such as pan scrolling, pinch zoom and pivot rotation. However, sometimes the touchpad seemed to remain stuck at one place. The mouse buttons beneath the touchpad worked pretty well and offered nice sound when clicked.

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Screen

The notebook sports a 15.6 inches LED backlit display which displays pictures of resolution measuring 1366×768 pixels. The screen has glossy surface which provided greater color saturation and black levels, but at the same time it produced glaring reflections. The screen brightness is fine for viewing it bright office conditions but when viewed outside, the colors faded quickly.

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Quick Specs

Let us see, how the laptop has to offer in terms of technical specifications:

Dimensions: 14.65 x 10.25 x 1.49-2.00 inches

Weight: 6.39lbs

Processor: Intel Core i3-330M

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

RAM: 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz

HDD/Memory: 500GB 5400rpm HDD

Optical Drive: 8x Dual-Layer CD/DVD burner (DVD/-RW/R)

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Laptop Features

Let us see some of the impressive features of LifeBook AH550:

Ports

The laptop offers a good selection of ports which includes four USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port and an HDMI output port. Users also get a LAN port and analog audio jack. There is a SDHC compatible card reader and Express Card/54 slot.

Heat and Noise

The cooling system of AH550 performed well in keeping the machine cool. But as compared to similar models, it is on the loud side and the fan made heavy noise under pressure. If you are using the laptop in small room or office than you can easily hear the fan noise.

Graphics Card

The Intel GMA HD integrated graphics performed quite well. We enjoyed watching 720p and 1080p HD video streamed from Youtube. However, when it came to playing the latest HD games, then the notebook disappointed us to some extent. If you do not intent to use AH550 as a gaming laptop, then the graphics card is competent enough to handle anything you throw at it.

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Audio

The speakers of AH550 are located above the keyboard and their performance is below than other multimedia oriented notebooks. Bass was quite weak and even with full volume turned on, we could barely hear the audio. We will suggest you to plug-in a nice set of headphones while watching movies or listening to music.

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Box Contents

The box contents of LifeBook AH550 are

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550

AC Adapter

Power Cord

User Manual

Download Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 user manual

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Battery Life

The notebook comes with either a 6 cell or an 8 cell battery depending upon your purchase. While the 6 cell battery will give you a runtime of approximately 3 hours, while the 8 cell battery gave us a runtime of around 6 hours.

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Price

Price of LifeBook AH550 is approximately $ 700. LifeBook AH550 is a basic multimedia notebook which offers decent set of features. If you are looking for a stylish, entry spec budget notebook, then you can look forward to LifeBook AH550.

Check out our Dell Vostro V131 review to know whether this machine is worth purchasing or not.

Dell Vostro V131 Looks And Design

The look of the machine is very clean and mostly it is encased in matte which otherwise has few glossy silver lines around the touchpad and keyboard. The lid of the notebook is quite stylish and you will find the traditional Dell logo at the centre of the machine. Vosto V131 is one of the thinnest notebook you will find in the market and at full dimensions, Vostro V131 stands at 12.96×0.82×9.36 inches.

It is quite portable weighing 4.03 pounds. We found a few weak spots in the chassis of the notebook and in some areas we found the notebook to flex a bit than the others. We also found the notebook to bend somewhat inwards when we twist the corners. One can upgrade the memory of Vostro 131 by removing one screw at the bottom of the panel and then pushing the panel towards the back. It may look easy in theory, but in reality we faced some problems while upgrading the memory of the machine.

Dell Vostro V131 Screen

The laptop has a 13.3 inches anti-glare matte 720p display which displays pictures of resolution measuring 1366×768 pixels. The maximum luminance which we achieved was 195nits. The backlighting was somewhat off and the backlighting was somewhat dull too. We felt that the overall color display was quite washed out. The vertical viewing angles were better than the horizontal viewing angles. The fact that the display is matte in nature impressed us. We felt that the screen of Vostro V131 could have been better.

Dell Vostro V131 Keyboard

Vostro V131 has a full sized keyboard and the blue backlighting of the keyboard impressed us. The backlight keyboard helps you to type in dark. The keys are flat and rounded at corners and they are quite soft to touch. It provided a comfortable typing experience. The keys do not make noise while typing. Initially we were unable to get the key travel as there is more space between the keys, but once you get adjusted to it, then you will enjoy typing.

Dell Vostro V131 Audio

Vostro V131 is equipped with a couple of speakers which are located on the front of the notebook below the palmrest. The audio from the speakers are quite good and when the speakers are fully on, then there we did not observe any distortion in sound. However our main complaint is that there is no bass. The audio was quite good considering that Vostro V131 is a business notebook.

Dell Vostro V131 Touchpad

Vostro V131 boasts of a Synaptics touchpad whose surface is quite smooth. Our fingers were moist, but then also we did not face any problems during navigation. We were quite happy to note that instead of a integrated button the mouse pad had separate left and right buttons.

Dell Vostro V131 Features And Ports

V131 has a nice set of ports. It has two USB 3.0 ports along with an HDMI one. There is a 8-in-1 card reader, one USB 2.0 and a VGA port. There is no docking station in Vostro V131. The machine also lacks a Smartcard reader, but does feature a fingerprint reader.

Dell Vostro V131 Specs

Here are some of the technical specifications of Vostro V131:

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

Display: 13.3 inches anti-glare 720p

Processor: Intel Core i5-2410M dual core

RAM: 6 GB DDR3-1333 dual channels

Hard Drive: 500GB, 7200 rpm

Dimensions: 12.96 x 0.63-0.83×9.36 inches

Weight: 4.03 lbs

Dell Vostro V131 Performance

The combination of a second generation Intel dual-core CPU and Intel HD graphics help Vostro V131 to carry out multi-task at ease. Surfing web pages and running apps such as Photoshop and other programs was quite good. The notebook also played 720p and 1080p HD videos at ease.

Dell Vostro V131 Heat And Noise

Vostro V131 is a relatively cool machine, in spite of having just one exhaust bent on the left side of the machine. With brushed aluminum surrounding the machine all over, the machine was quite cool to touch. It is also very silent and even while carrying out CPU intensive works, the machine remained pretty cool.

Dell Vostro V131 Accessories

During Vostro V131 unboxing, we found the machine to be equipped with the following accessories:

Dell Vostro V131

AC Adapter

Battery

User Manual

Download Vostro V131 user manual

Dell Vostro V131 Battery Life

Battery life is excellent for Vostro V131. The 6 cell Lithium ion battery delivered a mammoth runtime of around 9 hours which is highly impressive. Such as strong battery life is really commendable.

Dell Vostro V131 Price

Vostro V131 price in USA is approximately $ 500 while price of the machine in India is around Rs 30,000.

Dell Vostro V131 is a great small-to-medium business notebook. The display could have been made better, but the robust battery life and impressive internal specs makes Vostro V131 a decent purchase.

When Alienware stopped its popular M15x notebook, then many gaming aficionados were shocked. However, the company had replaced it with smaller M14x, but the question is whether Alienware has done a good job by replacing the 15 inch laptop with a 14 inch laptop. Check out our exclusive Alienware 14X review to know what the machine has in store for you.

Alienware M14X Build Quality

Among gaming laptops, Alienware’s design is one of the best. Though M14X may be one of the new notebooks in the market, but it has almost all the elements which make Alienware unique. The build quality of M14X is very good as it offers a nice amalgam of metals and plastics. M14X feels solid and the design is quite thick. The chassis of the notebook is quite thick and it does not flex under pressure. Weight can be an issue with M14X as the machine weighs over 6 lbs which makes portability an issue with the machine. One cannot get an easy access to the RAM of the system, hard drive and wireless cards.

Alienware M14x Screen Quality

M14X comes with a couple of screen choices. You get a 14.0″ high def display or 14.0″ High Def+ display. 14.0″ high def display is capable of displaying pictures of resolution measuring 1366×768 pixels. 14.0″ high def+ display is capable of displaying pictures of resolution measuring 1600×900 pixels. The displays are covered with glass recovering which helps to improve contrast and looks in dark rooms. But we observed that under indoor lighting or outside the screen caused reflections. The colors appeared sharp and vibrant and the viewing angles were also very good. While playing HD games, the sound and the colors appeared quite bright and well saturated.

Alienware M14X Keyboard

M14X has traditional styled keyboard which is very much the same as that of other Alienware notebooks. The keys are concave in shape and the key travel is quite good. They have a rubbery non-slippery surface. Overall the keyboard gave us good typing experience and it feels great. The keys require moderate actuation force and hence it provides great advantage to gamers. The keyboard is backlit in nature which facilitates typing in the dark.

Alienware M14X Sound Quality

M14x boasts some great stereo speakers which are located on the either side of the screen hinge just above the keyboard. Because of the position of the speakers, the sound comes out quite clear and we were able to listen to it pretty clearly. Overall the audio quality of the machine is quite good and we did not observe any distortions until and unless we increased the volume to about 90%.

Alienware M14X Specs

Let us take a look at some of the technical specifications of Alienware M14X laptop:

Dimensions: 1.49×10.17×13.27 inches

Weight: 6.48 lbs

Display: 14 inch glossy “edge to edge” full HD display

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Processor: Intel Core i7-2630QM quad core processor

RAM: 8GB DDR3-1333

HDD: 500 GB

Warranty: 1 year limited warranty

Alienware M14X Touchpad

The notebook is equipped with a large Synaptics touchpad which is quite responsive and has great matte non-slip surface. Navigation with the touchpad is quite smooth and the couple of touchpad buttons are quite soft and offer quite clicks when pressed. Overall, the company has done a fine job in designing the touchpad which is of great help to gamers.

Alienware M14X Features

The notebook has good selection of ports for a 14 inch laptop. There are a couple of USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, a HDMI, Display port, Ethernet, memory card reader. Though there is the lack of expresscard expansion slot, but then very few notebook include express card slot. The selection of ports is fairly good and will serve most of the needs of the users.

Alienware M14X Gaming

For a gaming PC, there are a lot of hardware requirements and Alienware M14x is equipped with most of such features which will targeted towards increasing the gaming performance of the machine. The laptop is equipped with a second generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor along of 8GB Of RAM and a reasonably quick 500GB of hard disk. These are quite impressive for a gaming laptop and we enjoyed while playing most of the normal as well as HD games in the machine.

Alienware M14X Graphics Card

The notebook is powered by a discrete Nvidia graphics card equipped with Nvidia Optimus technology. There is also in-built Intel graphics which give you high performance.

Alienware M14X Fan Noise And Heat

M14x drives a lot of hot air out of the single exhaust vent located on the back of the chassis. Once the machine is performing, intensive tasks then the fan noise increases dramatically. The fan noise and the fast moving air is loud enough that someone can easily hear it even if they are in a nearby room. We observed that the top of the chassis mostly remained lukewarm while the bottom center gets hot due to the system RAM, but then it did not get too hot either.

Alienware M14X Accessories

During M14x unboxing, we found the machine to be equipped with the following accessories:

Alienware M14x

Battery

AC Adapter

User manual

Download Alienware M14x user manual.

Alienware M14X Battery Life

During our battery test, we found Alienware M14x battery to give us a runtime of approximately 4 hours. For a gaming laptop this is quite impressive.

Alienware M14X Price

Alienware M14x price in USA is approximately $ 1000 while price of the machine in India is approximately Rs 80,000.

Alienware M14x is a relatively powerful gaming notebook which has plenty of useful features to make it a decent purchase. The powerful processor coupled with intensive graphics make Alienware M14x is power gaming laptop.

Are you in search of a laptop which gives you blazing performance coupled with lightweight design and good battery life? If yes, then Dell Latitude E6320 can very well be the machine for you. This laptop from Dell is equipped with an Intel Core i7 dual core processor to give great performance and at the same time it is quite light weighing just 4.2 pounds. Check out our Dell Latitude E6320 review to know what this machine has in store for you.

Dell Latitude E6320 Build And Looks

The laptop is made up of Tri-Metal casing which gives it a rugged finish. The finishing lends durability to the machine and gives it the required protection during travel. The display is made up of anodized aluminum while the corners are wrapped with reinforced magnesium alloy. Dell claims that the notebook has been designed in a manner which helps it to perform in extreme conditions. It feels quite solid and we did not notice any flex in the palm rest even under pressure. The keyboard however flexed to some extent but not a great deal. The laptop bears a very professional look and entire machine bears a dark gray color. It is a bit difficult to upgrade the machine. One has to remove the a few screws to open the memory can get access to the memory and hard drive. The HDD is further protected by additional screws and you need to unlock them to get access to it.

Dell Latitude E6320 Screen

E6320 has a 13.3 inch anti-glare screen which displays pictures of 1366×768 pixels. The contrast displayed is very low and considering the price of the machine, this disappointed us to great extent. When we moved the screen up and down, the colors faded very quickly. Since the upper side of the display is anti-glare in nature, if the screen is used in bright office, then it will not reflect much. However, the display can be bent all the back which is a great feature of the notebook.

Dell Latitude E6320 Speakers

Latitude E6320 has IDT HD audio as well as a couple of small speakers which are located on the front side of the machine. The speakers produced decent sound and which is loud enough to be heard during a meeting or presentation. Overall the quality of the speakers is quite decent for a business laptop. But due to lack of subwoofer in the laptop, bass will remain a problem with the machine.

Dell Latitude E6320 Specs

Here are some of the specifications of Latitude E6320

Dimensions: 13.19 x 8.79 x 1.00~1.18 inches

Weight: 4.02 pounds

Display: 13.3 inches anti-glare 720p

Display Resolution: 1366×768 pixels

Processor: Intel Core i7-2620M dual-core processor

RAM: 4GB DDR3 which can be upgraded to 8GB

HDD: 320GB 7200 rpm

Battery: 6 cell 11.1V, 60Wh Li-Ion battery

Dell Latitude E6320 Features

Dell Latitude E6320 laptop has a couple of USB 2.0 ports along with a mini HDMI to HDMI/DVI port. It does not have a standard HDMI port for connecting the machine with a HDTV. There is also a smartcard reader, VGA port, ExpressCard slot and an SD memory card reader. There are certain optional ports such as Smartcard reader, mini HDMI and optical drive.

Dell Latitude E6320 Keyboard

The keyboard of Latitude E6320 is a mixture between a customary and Chiclet/island style keyboard. The keys are a little raised and they car curved. The keyboard is spill resistant and is typing is a delight on them. It gives amazing key travel and tactile feedback. When you type on them, then you can hear them and at the centre of the keyboard you will find the stick/track point. If you are willing to shell out an extra $ 50, then you get the backlit keyboard option.

Dell Latitude E6320 Touchpad

The touchpad of the notebook is quite responsive and boasts of a matte finish. It is great to use and even if you have moisture in your fingers then also you will feel the same kind of responsiveness. The couple of touchpad buttons do make some noise when they are pressed but they are not that loud. The touchpad supports gestures such as zooming and scrolling.

Dell Latitude E6320 Heat

The machine has one exhaust vent on the left side while one larger vent is present at the bottom of the notebook. Though the laptop remained cool during normal activities, yet we found that while watching full screen movies, it is not that lap friendly. You can feel the low buzz of the fan when the notebook is carrying our intensive tasks. But when you are carrying out normal activities, then you will not hear the noise of the fan.

Dell Latitude E6320 Battery Life

The 6 cell battery of the notebook gave us a runtime of around 6 hours which is quite impressive by the standard of a business notebook.

Dell Latitude E6320 Accessories

During Latitude E6320 unboxing, we found the machine to be equipped with the following accessories

Latitude E6320

Battery

AC Adapter

User Manual

Download Latitude E6320 user guide.

Dell Latitude E6320 Price

Latitude E6320 price in the USA is approximately $ 1000.

It is a solid office laptop which boasts of durable construction and great performance. The spill resistant keyboard coupled with strong hinges, chassis etc make Latitude E6320 a good purchase.

If yes, then ASUS G53SX-A1 notebook can very well be the machine for you. The machine is the latest addition to ASUS G-series gaming notebook and the company has ensured that it packs the machine with robust features to makes it enticing among users. Check out our exclusive ASUS G53SX-A1 review to know what the machine has in store for you.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Looks And Design

The design of the notebook is of top quality, thanks to the black anti-glare plastic and wedge shaped chassis. The quality of the plastic is very good and it did not flex even when we applied pressure. However we found that angled edges of the notebook are a bit sharp. Because of the wedge shape of the notebook, it is a bit bulky and is difficult to handle. The machine is quite heavy weighing approximately 8.1 lbs. So portability is an issue with the notebook. The lid is quite securely attached to the chassis. Upgrading the machine is not an easy task. You need to remove the keyboard and the palm rest in order to access to the RAM and hard drive.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Screen

The machine has a 15.6 inch display which has an anti-glare surface which is capable of displaying 1080p videos of resolution measuring 1920×1080 pixels. The display is very bright and colorful. Contrast of the display is bright and colorful. Because of the anti-glare surface, the notebook is prevented from reflections. This is quite handy since this means that one can make use of the notebook in different conditions. Overall we were quite impressed by the screen quality of the notebook.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Keyboard

The laptop has a chiclet-style keyboard with a decent layout. One gets a different numeric keypad. The keyboard has a white LED backlighting whose brightness you can adjust. This is quite good while using the keyboard in dark. The keys are quite smooth and grippy. We were a bit disappointed to note that it lacks sufficient tactile feedback. Though you can type pretty fast on the keyboard, the lack of tactile feedback is quite disappointing.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Touchpad

The large touchpad of the notebook is quite good and easy to use. The company has made improvements in the touchpad buttons. The surface is quite smooth and they are easy to navigate. The mouse buttons are easier to press and the pressure required to press them is quite minimal. But we felt that the mouse buttons made a bit too much of a noise when clicked.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Speakers

There are a couple of speakers located above the keyboard. The sound quality of the speakers is quite decent. But the sound is not too heavy in the bass department and overall they are usable but we still preferred an external audio device.

There are a couple of speakers located above the keyboard. The sound quality of the speakers is quite decent. But the sound is not too heavy in the bass department and overall they are usable but we still preferred an external audio device.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Ports

Despite the big size of the notebook, we were disappointed to find that it has average variety of ports. It lacks an Express Card Slot, an eSata Port and a Display Port. On the right side of the machine you get a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 port, an HDMI port, a VGA port, an Ethernet and an AC power. We would have liked the machine to be equipped with more number of ports.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Specs

Let us take a look at some of the specifications of the machine

Weight: 8.1 lbs

ASUS G53SX-A1 Heat

The machine has excellent cooling systems. A couple of fans push warm air our to the chassis and even under full load, G53SX-A1 barely gets heated up. The fans also maintain a low noise level.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Graphics And Performance

One of the great features of the machine is its Nvidia GTX 560M graphics card with a whopping 2GB of ultra-fast GDDR5 video memory. This is great for playing viagra and watching HD and Youtube videos. Because of the high end specifications of the machine, one can perform any computing task at ease which comprises of playing the latest games and using software such as Adobe Photoshop CS5.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Battery Life

In our battery test, the machine lasted for over 3 hours which is quite respectable considering that it is a high performance notebook. In the past, it was unusual for a machine to clock such high battery life with such high end specs.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Release Date

The machine has been released sometimes during October 2011.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Price

Priced at approximately $ 1800, Asus G53SX-A1 is one the best all round gaming laptops which you can find in the market. The fantastic performance of the machine coupled with sharp design makes this machine worth purchase. However, Asus needs to improve upon its keyboard and that it looks more like a 17.3 inches machine rather than 15.6 inch. But overall, the performance of the laptop is quite good and you can very well bet your money on this.

But when it came to portability Macbook Pro emerged victorious. Now, Dell has come up with XPS 15z which boasts of an ultra-thin chassis, a great display and high end specifications. Now does Dell XPS 15z notebook really topples Apple’s Mac as the best 15 inches notebook in the market? Check out our full Dell XPZ 15z review to know more the machine.

Dell XPS 15z Looks And Feel

XPS 15z resembles very much to MacBook Pro. However you can differentiate between the two with dark color palm rest and hinge design in the former. The notebook is made of high quality metal which lends it a robust look and feel. The outside of the machine is constructed out of milled aluminum while the palm rest is made up of magnesium alloy. The screen bezel is also made of metal and the machine feels great to touch. The Chrome trim around the edges of the machine gives it a great style and in pressure the chassis hardly bends. The display hinge lends stability to the display and can be easily opened with one hand.

However, we felt that the ribbed barrel hinge is a bit out of place and with dimensions measuring 15.2 x 10.3 inches, XPS is a bit larger than MacBook Pro which measures 14.4 x 9.8 inches. It is also thinner than Macbook Pro by 1 inch. This makes Dell XPS 15z the thinnest 15 inch notebook on planet, but users will hardly be able to notice the difference. Weight of XPS 15z is more or less equal to 15 inch MacBook Pro which makes it easily portable.

One of the problems regarding Dell XPS 15z is its up gradation. There is the lack of user accessible panels at the bottom of the chassis, which makes it extremely difficult to upgrade RAM or a new hard disk. A great amount of chassis has to be reassembled if one needs to upgrade. Overall we were pretty impressed with the build quality of Dell XPS 15z.

Dell XPS 15z Screen

The notebook has a 15.6inches display which has a glossy/reflective surface. The full HD 1080p screen is capable of displaying pictures of resolution measuring 1920×1080 pixels. The screen is simply gorgeous and the colors displayed are quite sharp and vibrant. The screen is brighter and the pixel density is quite high. The contrast is fine and we really enjoyed watching HD and Youtube videos on XPS 15z. The glossy surface of the screen has both advantages and disadvantages. On the positive side, the glossy screen enhances contrast and clarity, but on the downside it is very hard to clean.

Dell XPS 15z Keyboard

The island style keyboard of the machine is one of the most stylish one you will find in the market. The keys are rounded which gave us a shallow feedback while typing. Like other 15.6 inches Dell notebook, the keyboard of the machine does not have a separate numeric keypad. Though the keys are smooth to touch, yet we did not have a pleasing experience while typing. We were also not impressed with the layout of the keyboard. Keys such as Home, End, Page Up, Page Down are integrated into the arrow keys. As a result one needs to press Function (Fn) keys in order to execute them.

Dell XPS 15z Touchpad

The touch however is quite spacious and is highly responsive. It has a large, smooth surface which helps in quick navigation. Execution of multi-touch functions such as pinch-to-zoom, scroll was very easy. The mouse buttons are separate and were very nice to click and the we liked that the it was very quiet to while clicking.

Dell XPS 15z Specs

Let us look at some of the technical configurations of XPS 15z

Processor: 2.7-GHz Intel Core i7-2620M

OS: MS Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

RAM: 8GB

HDD: 750 GB

Display Size: 15.6 inches

Optical Drive: DVD SuperMultiDrive

Video Memory: 2GB

Touchpad Size: 3.9×2.25 inches

Dimensions: 15.2×10.3×0.97 inches

Weight: 5.6 pounds

See Full Specs of Dell XPS 15z.

Dell XPS 15z Audio

The machine has a couple of stereo speakers which are located on either side of the keyboard. The speakers produce enough volumes, but we were disappointed to find that there is very little bass. The sound appeared crisp and clear but a subwoofer would have been better.

Dell XPS 15z Features

The machine boasts of an impressive quality of ports. There are a couple of USB 3.0 ports, eSata, mini-display port, HDMI port and an integrated optical drive. The machine also a 1.3 MP webcam which rendered fine details of faces and clothes during video chat. It also comes with various integrated software such as Adobe Photoshop, McAfee security centre, MS Office starter etc. Dell has also included several of its own software through which you will find shortcuts to programs and multimedia files.

Dell XPS 15z Graphics

Graphics configuration is very important for any notebook of such high configuration. The notebook has two graphics chip, an integrated Intel HD GPU and a discrete Nvidia GeForce GT525M processor. The Nvidia graphics is very much competent in playing the latest games but when it comes to visual quality settings, it is a bit disappointing. But by no means can one dismiss the fact that XPS 15z gives a high end gaming experience. The Nvidia GT 525M is equipped with Nvidia’s Optimus technology which for extended battery life.

Dell XPS 15z Heat Issues

Despite being a thin machine, XPS 15z is a relatively cool machine. It has a single fan which moves out warm air and even when we played HD movies and videos, the machine remained fairly cool.

Dell XPS 15z Accessories

During XPS 15z unboxing, we found the machine to be equipped with the following accessories:

AC Adapter

Battery

Dell XPS 15z

User Manual

Download Dell XPS 15z user manual.

Dell XPS 15z Battery Life

The battery life of XPS 15z is quite good. In our battery test, the battery of the machine lasted well over 6 hours. Here MacBook Pro wins over Dell as the fomer clocks a battery life of around 8 hours. One thing to note is the fact that the battery is integrated and not user-swappable.

Dell XPS 15z Price

Dell XPS 15z price in the USA is around $999 while price of XPS 15z in India is around Rs 70,000.

Dell XPS 15z Verdict

Comparisons will always be drawn between Dell XPS 15z vs MacBook Pro. Both the machines have their own pros and cons. XPS 15z impresses in most of the areas. The brilliant design of the machine coupled with the high quality display is its major advantages. The keyboard is the biggest drawback of the machine and up gradation of this is also a bit difficult. But all in all XPS 15z is a robust machine and you will not regret purchasing it.
